Crested Butte Mountain Resort Winter Closing

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is celebrating its 60th anniversary with fun events on April 2-3, 2023, as the winter season comes to an end. Some fun activities include pond skimming, live music, and costumes. The pond skim is returning after a two-year break and prizes will be given for best costume, best style, and best splash. It will be held on April 2 with an after-party, and April 3 is Closing Day with live music by Coal Creek Connection.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s vice president and general manager Tara Schoedinger, said that they were thrilled to reintroduce some of their iconic events this year, such as the AI Johnson Memorial Telemark Race, Donation Day, Ski Town Break Down, and the upcoming Pond Skim on April 2. Also, the launch of the new Peachtree Lift and learning terrain this season brought great delight to them, and it has undoubtedly been a significant highlight for both their guests and employees, particularly the SRS instructors. After canceling events for the previous two seasons because of COVID, it is heartening to witness the mountain revitalizing and uniting the community once more.
