    Crested Butte is a stunning place for fishing. The area has beautiful mountain landscapes and a variety of fishing spots to explore. Here are some amazing fishing destinations:

    Lost Lake and Lost Lake Slough: These peaceful mountain lakes are just an hour’s drive from Crested Butte. You can also camp near them to enjoy a colorful fishing experience.

    Taylor River: Not far from Crested Butte, this river offers world class fishing for cutthroat and rainbow trout.

    Taylor Park Reservoir: An hour from downtown Crested Butte and sits above the Taylor River, this reservoir is great for catching lake trout and rainbows.

    Blue Mesa Reservoir: About 45 minutes of town, this large reservoir is perfect for boat fishing. It’s known for kokanee salmon and other fish, and it’s big enough that you won’t feel crowded.

    East River: Just 20 minutes south of Crested Butte, this river has plenty of wild brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. It’s surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

    Lake Irwin: A quick 20-minute drive west leads to this serene lake, perfect for a relaxed day of rainbow trout fishing.

    Gunnison River: The Gunni offers stunning views and is home to lots of trout.
